The city of San Francisco has opened an ‘app store’. Its making civic data feeds from the police, transport and municipal works available for people to create apps for the city. This means people can apply their own initiatives to make the data relevant, useable, and potentially monetised. Its an ingenious way for the city to capitalise on its private technological and entrepreneurial spirit to innovate its public works.
Brands can improve themselves by knowing what they do best, and by helping people and others do more, better with them.
